CV/Bio

STEVEN L. BOKSENBAUM is a Pittsburgh artist living and working in his hometown.  Painting since childhood, he earned a BFA and MFA in printmaking and painting from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, with additional graduate work in printmaking at Brighton University in Brighton, England, and art education certification from Carlow University in Pittsburgh.

Currently working primarily in oils on small canvases, his works are meditations on images gathered with digital photography from the commute to his day gig, and occasionally a vacation.  It is the American life, the ordinary, anonymous daily routines glorified in the atmosphere of paint.

Recent solo exhibitions include Trinity Gallery, 2009, and Boxheart Gallery, 2008 and 2010, both in Pittsburgh.  He shows frequently with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, and has had work available at the Mendelson Gallery in Pittsburgh, Glassgrowers Gallery in Erie, Pennsylvania, Boxheart, Trinity, and Galerie Chiz, Pittsburgh.  In September, 2011, Boksenbaum Fine Art Studio and Gallery opened on Murray Avenue in Pittsburgh.
